"Transport industry struggled with increasing charges"
There is a conjunction barometer of the BGL (Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung), a German federal association for transporting goods, logistics and waste removal, which comes out quarterly. For the third quarter it is predicting that 79% of the polled businesses have had problems with strong cost increases. 86% of the respondents (previous quarter: 76%) had to see themselves confronted with increased fuel charges. 66% (previous quarter: 56%) had to cope with raised vehicle expenses and 38% (previous year: 44%) with higher personnel costs.

In addition to that it is accordingly assumed that these prospects of the polled businesses will be still increasing during the first term of 2008. These polled businesses are doomsayers.
